This post was brought to you by the Delta Faucet Company. I received free product from Delta Faucet to write this post, but all opinions expressed are my own.
Ever since we moved into our own home we’ve always been worried about water damage or having a leak somewhere. It’s the little (okay maybe not so little) things that worry you once you own your own home. You can’t just call up your landlord and have them come and fix it anymore. Being a home owner is very rewarding but also very nerve racking at times. Something that can help ease that worry is with the new Delta® Leak Detector.
Delta reached out to me and asked if I wanted to test this new little device. I was anxious to give it a try as it can help ease our minds in this whole home ownership thing. Something that has been very new to us was having a sump pump. It has caused a lot of worry for my husband because it’s something we have never had to deal with before. I grew up in the midwest and I still never had a sump pump in our home. A sump pump is typically in basements and it helps remove water that has collected in the sump basin. It then gets rid of the water. In our home it is drained into our back yard.
Sump pumps are wonderful but they are powered by electricity. The problem with that is if you are having a rain storm and your power goes out then your sump pump doesn’t work anymore. Lots of people will buy a back up battery in case this happens or a generator. Unfortunately we didn’t buy either yet because they were both a steep price. I love that if something were to happen that we could use the Delta Leak Detector to help us detect a water overflow. What’s even better is that it’s linked to your phone so you can be alerted of a water leak. Once you get your Leak Detector start by taking it out of the packaging and add the Triple A batteries provided.
The next step is to download the app onto your smart phone.
- Choose the Location of where you want to place your Leak Detector.
- Place the Leak Detector in the area where water can be detected if there is a leak.
- Setup is complete and it’s ready to work so you don’t have to!
You can log onto the app and check to see if you have any alerts, the battery percentage, temperature of the room and the signal strength! It’s pretty amazing to see where technology has come through the years! You can set up multiple Leak Detectors throughout your house and it will list all of theme under the Main Home screen.
If you are interested in learning more about the Delta Leak Detector you can learn more here. What is also great is they have a sweepstakes going on where you can win your own Leak Detector. All you need to do is share your own photos or videos on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #LeakDetectSweepstakes and tag @DeltaFaucet. Each week throughout November, four winners will be rewarded with a Delta Leak Detector, and be featured on Delta’s Inspired Living blog!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far! Lots of things are going on with the One Room Challenge and I’ll have more updates for you Wednesday with how that is all coming along! Have a great week and see you Wednesday!
