I’m starting a new journey today by becoming a contributor to Old House to New Home.  I’m so excited to join Amanda and a few other contributors on her website.   Amanda has tons of super yummy recipe tutorials as well as DIY projects to boot. If you don’t already follow her I highly recommend heading over and checking out her page. Especially today, because I’m contributing there today! 🙂

Today I’m featuring a little project I did with an end table I’ve owned since college. One of my college roommates was moving out and no longer wanted this table and since I was moving into my own place I was happy to take any furniture I could get my hands on. I would consider this end table the beginning of my DIY journey way of life. I started by spray painting it black and love how it looked. It’s been sitting in my various homes since, in that state.

I thought I needed a change and an extra added pop of color in my living room so I knew this end table would be the perfect project! Head on over to Old House to New Home to see the full tutorial on how to distress furniture the easy way.

Have a great Monday everyone! I’ll see you Friday for my Friday Favorites.  I am going to take a small break from Friday Favorites in a couple weeks because I’m going to be super busy participating in the One Room Challenge by Calling it Home.  I plan to transform my guest room even more than I did with my stenciled lace feature wall post!  See you on Friday!

My name is Ruthie, I was born and raised in the Midwest.  I met the man of my dreams in Nashville, TN and decided to follow him back home to California.  First came love, then came marriage, then came the baby in the baby carriage.  My husband got a new job when my daughter was 2 months old and we packed up and moved halfway across the country to Minnesota, back to my homeland. We now have two beautiful little girls.
