If you have been following along with my blog, you know how we love to have guests at our home.  In the past couple years we’ve redone both of our guest rooms in our house. They are also multi-functional rooms that we can use as a family.

Earlier this month, I shared some of my must-have items when creating a welcoming space for your guests. I wanted to add a couple more to that list and share a few tutorials.

Welcoming Basket

I love to create a basket full of goodies for my guests when they arrive. I add items that they may not have thought of to pack. I also put a few everyday items in there as well.

Great items to include in your basket are waters, snacks, wrinkle releaser, hand lotion, coffee, and magazines.  One of my favorite things to add to my gift baskets is a treat to your nose.

Softsoap® has a new line of Softsoap® Décor Collection® liquid hand soaps that you can purchase at Walmart.  They are available in 3 fragrances that will definitely make your guests happy!

Not only do they smell amazing?!  They also look good! The stylish bottles go really well with my decor and add a special touch to my bathroom sinks.

There was an entire section dedicated to hand soaps at my Walmart in Minnesota. The Softsoap® Decor Collection® was so popular that they were out of the Wild Basil & Lime scent!

So, you better get moving and get to Walmart so you can add this to your bathroom or kitchen decor!

Toiletries Jar

If you are anything like me, you always end up forgetting something when you travel.  I hate to bug whoever I’m staying with to see if I could borrow their shampoo or conditioner.  Or whatever else I may need.

So why not take the awkwardness out of the picture by having an entire jar of random toiletries!  Plus, it’s pretty fun to collect these when you are staying at a hotel.

I made this collection with a 2-gallon gallon jar that I purchased at Walmart.  I then added a little decal that I made on my Cricut Maker. It’s so easy to make!

I created it in Cricut Design Space and all I did was use my favorite font, Malisia.  The font is so pretty that you can make very simple items look beautiful. Here is a great tutorial on how to create and adhere the decal to your jar.

Bathroom Organization

So now you’ve made a gift basket and a toiletries jar, but sometimes something may still get lost in the mix.  This is why it’s great to have an organized, labeled bathroom.

This way you or your guest can find what they are looking for quickly!  I used the same process as I did for the jar with these drawers within my bathroom closet.

Making your guests feel at home is very important if you like to entertain.  You want your guests to be comfortable and relaxed. So having items like these above really help them feel good.

Also adding the wonderful smell of Softsoap® is a nice added bonus for your guests. They will love washing their hands in your beautifully decorated bathroom.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I’ll be back next week with a few more tutorials and projects for you!

My name is Ruthie, I was born and raised in the Midwest.  I met the man of my dreams in Nashville, TN and decided to follow him back home to California.  First came love, then came marriage, then came the baby in the baby carriage.  My husband got a new job when my daughter was 2 months old and we packed up and moved halfway across the country to Minnesota, back to my homeland. We now have two beautiful little girls.
