Lucy's Birthday Party Fit for a Princess - www.refashionablylate.com

This past weekend we celebrated our daughter’s 4th birthday with our friends!  It was really part 1 of her birthday celebration as we are celebrating with family this weekend as well!  I can’t believe my baby was born 4 years ago!  I know that may seem young to a lot of people but that 4 years have flown by!  The past two years we did a Minnie Mouse theme and it almost happened for the third year in a row but she changed her mind. 🙂  She went with the Princess theme this year and I love it!  I actually did a Princess theme for her first birthday so it was fun to bring it back on a larger level!Lucy's Birthday Party Fit for a Princess - www.refashionablylate.com

I love how pink can be used in pretty much any party decor for a little girl.  I’ve been able to use some of the same decor for every birthday of Lucy’s life!  I’m sure I will use the same decor for my younger daughter as well!  My mom picked up a few decorative items for me at Home Goods and I filled the rest in with previously owned decor and items from Oriental Trading.

Now that Lucy is getting older I wanted to plan some activities for the kids.  In the past we just set up some yard games outside and let the kids play.  I feel once they reach around the age of 4 a few activities are smart to keep the kids entertained.  To start off the party most of the kids headed to the craft table and created their own crowns and shields.  It was a hit and all the kids loved making their own addition to their costume.  Most of the kids dressed up as Princesses and Princes and it was adorable!

There was a child sitting there at all times throughout the party working on their crowns or shields!  With the help of Oriental Trading I also wanted to put together some cute party favors.Lucy's Birthday Party Fit for a Princess - www.refashionablylate.com

What kid doesn’t love a rubber ducky?!  I love how there are so many different decorative ducks these days and I loved these princess ducks.  Since there were some Princes at Lucy’s birthday party I got these fun Medieval Stampers so not everything was pinky and girly! 🙂  I also picked out some rings and tattoos to add into the mix.  You can’t forget candy so I picked up some pink mini Reeses and Princess candy bracelets! I then packed it all in the these fun gift bags that I got at the dollar store!

After the kids did a few activities inside then they just enjoyed the beautiful weather outside!  It was a gorgeous day which was so wonderful as we’ve been having a lot of rainy days lately.  It feels like Fall in Minnesota this August which is very strange.  I love Fall so I’m not upset but I was hoping for a warm day for the party!

The party was fit for a Queen…I mean Princess! Lucy couldn’t have had a bigger smile on her face that day! Watching her have so much fun just brings joy to my heart!  I love that I have two little girls and can decorate and plan such fun and girly parties!  Anxious to see what Lucy chooses for a theme next year! Have a wonderful weekend friends and I’ll see you next week!A Successful Thanksgiving! 21

My name is Ruthie, I was born and raised in the Midwest.  I met the man of my dreams in Nashville, TN and decided to follow him back home to California.  First came love, then came marriage, then came the baby in the baby carriage.  My husband got a new job when my daughter was 2 months old and we packed up and moved halfway across the country to Minnesota, back to my homeland. We now have two beautiful little girls.
