We are into month 2 of our 6 month behind the bloggers series where I’m participating with 3 other talented ladies! Unfortunately Jen from Fresh Crush couldn’t join us this month. This month’s topic is all about the man behind the blogger. I am very fortunate to have married a wonderful husband who is also a wonderful father.
Paul and I met in 2008 in Nashville, TN. As I have mentioned before I sing competitive acapella music and my husband does as well. He has sung in many amazing groups such as The Westminster Chorus and The Crush. He is amazingly talented and has a beautiful bass voice. We met at a singing convention and only spoke for a few minutes. I thought he was very handsome but didn’t really think much about it. When I got home from Nashville back to Colorado (where I lived at the time) we became Facebook friends and started interacting here and there through it. It then turned into instant messaging, which then turned into phone calls, which then lead to him buying a plane ticket to come and visit me. I was terrified and excited all at the same time when he came out to visit for the first time. We had a wonderful weekend and then flying back and forth from California and Colorado became a monthly event in our lives.
One of my many trips out to California!
After 9 months of traveling back and forth, I decided to take the plunge and move out to California. The rest is history and we fell even more madly in love and began our lives together. 2 years later we got married and had a beautiful wedding in my home town of Okoboji, IA.
We loved our life in California but knew it was time for a change once we expanded our family. We had a beautiful baby girl in August of 2013 and shortly after moved from California to Minnesota. We started off by renting a townhome (which was about double the size of our apartment in California and about $200 less a month) and about 9 months in we decided it was time to buy our own home. So here we are!
I am very fortunate that my husband is so supportive of my life of blogging. He’s really enjoyed watching it grow and has even helped out with a few posts! He even has a couple in the works! One of his posts that did well was his “What Men Really Want for Father’s Day” post.
By day my husband works for Lennar Homes and helps acquire land and does the permitting and planning for new home construction. By night…and when I say night, I mean the occasional weekend…he also sings competitive acapella music. He is a very talented singer and I’m so thankful that we both love to sing and can share our hobby together.
He is currently becoming a member of the local Barbershop Harmony Society chorus The Great Northern Union. We are both very active in our hobby because it’s what we love to do. I feel so fortunate to have a husband who loves their hobby as much as I love mine! It really helps us balance our hobby and life when one understands the passion for it.
Needless to say, I’m one lucky gal and I thank God every day for my husband. He is kind, compassionate, talented, hard-working, and a loving man. Lucy and I have a pretty great guy on our side!
Now head on over and see what other amazing men are behind these amazing bloggers! Without our men as a support system, none of us may be able to blog and work as we do! Thank you, boys!
