One Room Challenge Lucy's Room Week 5 - www.refashionablylate.com

Well life just got in the way last week and I wasn’t able to update you all with week 4 of the One Room Challenge.  I went to Chicago for my sister-in-law’s baby shower and before, during and after I dealt with a throwing up 3 year old.  My poor girl threw up every day for 5 days.  We got home from our trip to find out she has asthma.  I’m so happy to say that my spunky 3 year old is healthy and happy now!  She got put on a nebulizer and it has made a world’s difference!  Now that she’s better I have had a little time to focus on finishing her room!

If you missed the last few weeks you can catch up here:

Week 1  |  Week 2  |  Week 3

This past week I’ve been focusing on getting the doors painted.  I’m spraying them with my HomeRight Finish Max Sprayer.  I’m also using a new paint from Sherwin-Williams called SnapDry.  It’s made for doors and trim and dries within an hour and can be closed without sticking!  I’ve got two coats of primer on and one coat of SnapDry.  The next step is to apply the custom o’verlays that I had designed for my doors.  So far both my daughter’s rooms have white trim and the hallway is also white.  I’ve also painted our linen closet doors.  I’m loving looking down the hall at all the white!!  I can’t wait to put the doors up now!

This is during the second coat of primer.

Once the doors are painted I am putting these beautiful door knobs from Schlage on.  Aren’t they gorgeous?!  I can’t wait to see how these beauties plus the o’verlays transform my ugly brown hollow core doors!  I’m also replacing all the hinges and door stops as well to match!

One more thing we were able to get done is hang this beautiful light from Lamps Plus.  It looks so beautiful in her room and adds just a little bit more sparkle which is always fun for a little girl!

mother holding baby in the air and going for a kiss

My name is Ruthie, I was born and raised in the Midwest.  I met the man of my dreams in Nashville, TN and decided to follow him back home to California.  First came love, then came marriage, then came the baby in the baby carriage.  My husband got a new job when my daughter was 2 months old and we packed up and moved halfway across the country to Minnesota, back to my homeland. We now have two beautiful little girls.
