One Room Challenge Week 4 Nursery Progress - www.refashionablylate.com

Well, here I am writing my second post for the One Room Challenge in one day.  If you haven’t read my Week 4 Bathroom post then a here’s a quick version of what happened yesterday.  On my way to taking my daughter to Preschool, I started having contractions and they weren’t stopping.  I called my doctor and he told me to go lay down and if they continued to go into the hospital.  They continued so after my daughter was done with Preschool we picked her up and dropped her off at Daycare and then headed to the hospital.  I got monitored for an hour or so and was having multiple contractions but nothing was really progressing so they decided to send me home.  Contractions have come and gone but I guess it’s not time to welcome our new little girl.  So back to the grind….

If you missed the previous weeks of the progress of both rooms you can catch up here:

I’m proud to say that the nursery is pretty much done.  I worked hard and got it finished before the 6-week deadline as I wanted to be prepared if the baby was to arrive early.  (I’m due the day before Thanksgiving.)  My mom was in town this past weekend so besides finishing the room we got all of the clothes organized.  My husband grabbed the bins of clothes down from the garage and it was then time to fold and hang clothes in their appropriate sizes.  I said to my mom after we were finished that baby was aloud to arrive now that I felt organized. 🙂

So this week I wanted to share the gorgeous art work I received from minted.  Their website is very easy to navigate.  You can search through various categories and narrow down your search in each category. I started by going to minted art —> Children’s Art —> Nursery Art.  From there you can filter it down even farther by gender, featured, style, shape and color.  Once you have chosen a piece of art you like then you can choose what kind of frame you like, materials to be used and if you’d like a border included.   You then have a beautiful finished product that will be shipped to you in a very secure and safe package at your front door!  I couldn’t be happier with the product and shipping.

I also loved their art shelves and and I decided to go with the artful shelf which comes in premium wood with a herringbone whitewashed detail.  I love the herringbone detail to these shelves and they couldn’t have been easier to install!  You mount a bracket to the wall which has a level in place and then once that is in place all you do is clip the shelves onto the bracket!  So easy!!

We are getting so much closer to the final reveal and I can’t wait to share the room with you all!

Here is where we are at with the progress of the nursery:

  • Paint woodwork/trim
  • Paint ceiling
  • Paint walls
  • Change light fixture
  • Change outlets & switches
  • Wallpaper focus wall
  • Remove closet doors
  • Hang curtain rods
  • Hang drapes
  • Put bedding on
  • Hang shelves/artwork
  • Paint closet
  • Install closet system
  • Organize closet

Not much left to do to have this room completely finished!  Thank you again to all of my sponsors for this challenge, this room wouldn’t be where it is without all of their help and support!

Love your baby’s room! So soft and pretty! I think card 5 is just too cute since you want to use it both as a Christmas card and birth announcement! But put a picture of both girls on it!

My name is Ruthie, I was born and raised in the Midwest.  I met the man of my dreams in Nashville, TN and decided to follow him back home to California.  First came love, then came marriage, then came the baby in the baby carriage.  My husband got a new job when my daughter was 2 months old and we packed up and moved halfway across the country to Minnesota, back to my homeland. We now have two beautiful little girls.
