If you follow me on Instagram you have seen bits and pieces of the progress of the playroom in our basement. When we first moved into our home we didn’t have enough furniture to fill the spaces so our basement was left alone for a while and became kind of a storage unit. We didn’t have a dining room table so I made a make shift playroom in the dining room. It worked perfectly since we spent pretty much all of our time in the upper level of our house.
I am so excited to have been featured on Hometalk.com for the second time. Hometalk sends out emails daily with fun and creative ideas and my DIY Wall Plates made the cut! 🙂
If you aren’t familiar with Hometalk please go over to their website and check it out. It’s like Pinterest but focuses on home and garden projects. What I really love is that you can post projects that you have completed as well as ask for help and advice on projects you are working on. Please give it a look and while you are there please follow Refashionably Late!
I’m excited to share my daughter’s new art center with you on Monday and the continued progress of the playroom! I hope everyone is having a great weekend!
I have two small spaces on either side of my china cabinet. I was thinking about ways to decorate it and I decided I wanted to create a wall of decorative plates. I was feeling pretty confident after recovering my valence and kitchen table chairs that I felt I could tackle this project head on! I had an old coffee table that my parents gave back to me when we bought the house – I had made this really great coffee table in middle school shop class….well there is a good possibility my shop teacher made most of it! Haha! My parents actually had it in their house for years in their family room. I said that I would take it and I was planning on repainting it and using in our new home. I didn’t really have a great spot for it in my family room or living room. I saw a lot of coffee tables turned into ottomans online. I loved the idea and was so excited to transform my coffee table! I had seen other projects such as this on Pinterest and decided to use Not So Newleywed McGees blog as a reference when working on my ottoman.Read More
I barricaded myself in my basement this week to paint a million different things while feeling very motivated. I keep coming up with new projects that I just simply have to work on immediately! Does this happen to anyone else besides me? I think having almost our entire house painted and ready to be decorated is my motivation! I just want it to be done and have it be “our” home and have the previous owners “moved out.”Read More
