The Performance Cost Plus World Market - www.refashionablylate.comI wanted to share with you all a very special thing my husband and I were able to do for another family.  If you have not followed along with my blog and are new then I would like to fill you in on a little bit about me and my family life.  In 2013 we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Lucy.  We got pregnant fairly quickly and had minimal complications so we didn’t think anything would be an issue the second time.  When Lucy turned 2 we decided to try for our second child.  Since we had a good track record we didn’t think that it would be hard to have our second child.

Unfortunately, it took a few tries and few miscarriages to give birth to our beautiful second baby girl, Gabi.  We are so blessed that she will be turning 1 on Thursday.  If you want to read about our story more in depth you can click here.  With going through this loss, our hearts are with other families that have experienced this kind of loss.  It is an extremely hard thing to go through as a parent.

About 2 weeks ago I put up a breathable crib mattress up on the local Facebook Market Place.  We had used this for Gabi as we wanted to keep her as safe as possible plus she was a bit of a tummy sleeper.  I had a woman reach out to me wanting to purchase the mattress.  I then went to her profile and noticed she had experienced a stillborn loss.  My heart sank for her and her family and I knew I couldn’t sell the mattress to her.  I spoke with my husband and we decided to gift it to her.

I messaged her privately and said that my husband and I had experienced some losses ourselves and wanted to gift them the mattress.  She was so grateful and it felt so good to help someone who has experienced such a tragedy.  I am happy to say she is now expecting twin boys and she is about 21 weeks along.  I’m so happy that this mattress can help ease their minds once their sweet babes are brought into this world!

With all that being said I wanted to create a bit of a gift list for both the babies and that special Mama.  Cost Plus World Market has so many gift options for your loved ones.  You can find things like gifts for her, gifts for kids, to even ornaments and decorations.  I thought these items below were adorable and much needed gifts for the new Mom to be and her babies.  I also wanted to throw in a rainbow item into the gift selection.  A rainbow baby is any baby that is born after the loss of a previous baby.  I’m so fortunate to have my little rainbow baby Gabi and I can’t wait for this Mama to get her beautiful rainbow baby boys!

mother holding baby in the air and going for a kiss

My name is Ruthie, I was born and raised in the Midwest.  I met the man of my dreams in Nashville, TN and decided to follow him back home to California.  First came love, then came marriage, then came the baby in the baby carriage.  My husband got a new job when my daughter was 2 months old and we packed up and moved halfway across the country to Minnesota, back to my homeland. We now have two beautiful little girls.
